 | Time to celebrate the Lunar New Year!This week is the beginning of the 2 week long festival in China and other parts of Asia known as the "Spring Festival" and "Lunar New Year". It is arguably the largest celebration in China and is know for its fireworks and festivals. There are dragon dances and street fairs. Families gather together at home to start a new beginning. They eat dumplings and cakes. Red is the color of the season and everyone wears it for good luck in the coming year. Temples and palaces are decorated with traditional lanterns and evil spirits are driven away by the sound of firecrackers. Dating back to 2600 B.C., this New Years tradition is one of the oldest still being practiced by millions of people each year.
