Kids Stories and the Importance of ReadingWe are always told growing up how important reading is. It is good for our mental development and is an essential part of our ongoing education. It is a valuable skill that you will use for the rest of your life for communication.
Beyond all that, reading is something that can open new worlds to young students and help them understand complex issues we face each day in life. Reading can inspire and motivate us to do better. It can give us new insights into people and cultures from all walks of life and encourage us to be better for others. Reading should start early. Parents can read to their children before they even know what words are. There are many resources available for children's stories and books. Many of them don't cost anything. You can find them online or in your public library. Here are some useful links for children's stories. http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/ http://www.gutenberg.org/ http://manybooks.net/ http://www.shortstories101.com/?PageSpeed=noscript http://www.americanrhetoric.com/ http://learnenglishteens.britishcouncil.org/ http://www.sparknotes.com/ http://rong-chang.com/kids.htm It's important to help kids understand that reading is more than just boring busy work.
